The long-awaited "Grand Chapitre Japon" will be held under the leadership of the Bailliage du Kanto(Tokyo).
This year marks the 45th anniversary of Chaîne Japan .
We are planning a three-day gourmand festival of Japanese, Western and Chinese delicacies.
We hope you will join us and enjoy the great tastes of autumn with Chaîne members!

After a two-year pandemic delay, it is with great pleasure that we are finally able to invite you to join us for Chaîne Japan’s 45th Anniversary Grand Chapitre in the City of Tokyo, which will be held October 2-4, 2022. 

Chaîne Japan started in 1977 with just 20 members. Today we are 650 strong, with Provincial Bailliages in Hokkaido, Tohoku, Kanto, Kansai and Kyushu. This success and longevity is the result of the hard work and dedication of both members and directors, to whom I extend my heartfelt thanks and gratitude. 

I hope you will join us in this capital of gastronomy and look forward to sharing not only great food, but the many attractions Tokyo has to offer visitors.

We will be celebrating the 45th anniversary of Chaîne Japan with our first Tokyo Grand Chapitre in three years.

The schedule of events is both full and diverse. On October 2nd, we will have a welcome dinner at the Japanese restaurant "Sakuragaoka" at Cerulean Tower Tokyu Hotel featuring a pairing of seasonal ingredients and fine sake. Mr. Nobuhiko Fukuda, Conseiller Culinaire and Executive Chef of the hotel is looking forward to seeing you. On October 3 the new member, promotion, and OMGD Intronisation ceremony will precede a gala dinner at the Hotel Okura Tokyo, where the first general meeting to create Chaîne Japan was held 45 years ago. Mr. Yoshiyuki Ikeda, Officier Maitre Rotisseur and Executive Chef of the hotel will prepare Wagyu Beef Wellington with Sauce Périgueux and seasonal vegetables. We go back to the Cerulean Tower Tokyu on the 4th for a farewell lunch of spicy Szechuan dishes at the Chinese restaurant “CHEN."

This will be a "gourmand festival" to celebrate the great tastes of autumn. We hope you will be able to join us.

Chef Profile

Yoshiyuki IKEDA
Hotel Okura Tokyo, Executive Chef for Western Cuisine

Born in Tokyo in 1956. Graduated from Hattori Nutrition College in 1977 and joined Hotel Okura the following year. In 1984 he moved to the Okura Hotel in Amsterdam, staying until 1987. Upon his return he worked at the hotel’s renowned “La Belle Epoque,” learning from the master who is said to be the Father of Japanese French Cuisine, Masakichi Ono. Since since 2015, Ikeda-san has been Hotel Okura’s Executive Chef of Western cuisine.

He joined Chaîne Japan in 2015, was promoted as Officier Maitre Rotisseur in 2019.

Special rates are available for stays at "The Okura Tokyo" between Sunday 2nd October and Thursday 6th October 2022 for Grand Chapitre attendees.
